Promoting plain EnglishAs host and major sponsor of the annual WriteMark New Zealand Plain English Awards, Write is actively involved in raising public awareness of the need for open ‘citizen language’ in all public, legal, financial, and health information.
WriteMark New Zealand Plain English Awards Other not-for-profit work includes committee membership of Plain English Power (an advocacy group), membership of the International Working Group on Plain Language, and speaking engagements at various national and international conferences.
Write’s Chief Executive, Lynda Harris, is also the New Zealand representative for Clarity — the international plain language organisation for lawyers.
