October is Health Literacy Awareness month
If you work in the health field, you'll be interested in a special half-day workshop that focuses on communicating health information clearly. We couldn't fit the workshop into our October timetable but we can tell you about it! It's on 16 November.
Rosie Knight, one of our plain English specialists, is the inspiration behind this workshop — and the trainer. Best practice in health literacy is one of Rosie’s great interests, and she’s keen to use her extensive experience in the health sector to improve and clarify health information.
Rosie is also available for consulting on a daily basis. Email Rosemary@write.co.nz.

A3 presentations — doing them well
A3 presentations are becoming more and more popular as managers find ways to cut down the lengthy reports that land on their desks. A great A3 presentation can give a busy reader the key messages brilliantly. But a bad one can cause headaches too.
Let us show you how to get all that content onto one well-designed A3 page without sacrificing important information.

Most people do the right thing to overcome writer's block
Our last survey, which asked people how they overcame writer's block, showed that most people do some kind of planning first. That's the perfect answer. Creating an outline first, using brainstorming or some other method, is an easy way to start and is almost guaranteed to give you a better finished document.
