Writing tip 16: Use email subject lines that work

Many readers delete an email as soon as they read the subject line. Do your subject lines pass the skim-and-delete test? Make sure your subject lines are short, clear, and closely related to the content.

And be careful about adding an unrelated PS at the bottom of your email. Many readers don't scroll to the end of a message if they feel they've got the main point early on.
