Writing tip 19: 'Less' or 'fewer'?

Be careful when you use 'less' and 'fewer'.

'Less' means 'not as much'.

'Fewer' means 'not as many'.

If you'd use 'much', use 'less'; if you'd use 'many', use 'fewer'.

Example
She earns less money because she sells fewer products.

If you can count them, use fewer.
